About Tax-M8

Tax doesn't
have to suck.

We're building the tax mate we wished we had — calm, plain-English and squarely in the corner of Australian creators, freelancers, sole traders and side hustlers.

Why we built it

Tax time shouldn't feel like a fire drill.

If you earn money outside a simple PAYG job — a side hustle, freelance gigs, brand deals, gifted products — tax gets messy fast. Receipts pile up in a camera roll, income lands from five different places, and 30 June arrives with a sinking feeling and a half-finished spreadsheet.

We thought that was a rubbish way to treat people who are just trying to do the right thing. So we built Tax-M8: snap a receipt and it's filed, see what's actually safe to spend, and roll into EOFY with the boring bits already sorted.

It's not here to replace your accountant — it's here to make their job easier and your year calmer.

About Tax-M8 in the app
What we stand for

A few things we won't budge on.

Plain English

No jargon walls

GST, BAS, EOFY — explained like a mate would, not like a tax form. If we can't say it simply, we keep working on it.

Your data, yours

You're in control

You decide what goes in, you can export it any time, and you can delete your account and data whenever you like.

Honest by default

Tools, not advice

We give you estimates and organisation, with cautious language and a clear line: the final call is yours and your accountant's.

Built local

Made for Australia

Designed around the Australian financial year, GST and the realities of creator and sole-trader income — not bolted on from overseas.

Creator-first

We get the gig life

Gifted products, brand collabs, platform payouts and PR are first-class citizens here, not awkward edge cases.

Calm over clever

Less panic, full stop

Every screen earns its place by lowering your stress. If it adds noise instead of clarity, it doesn't ship.

The honest bit: Tax-M8 provides educational guidance and organisational tools only. It does not provide tax or financial advice and does not lodge tax returns. For decisions about your tax, always check with a registered tax agent or accountant.
